A few weeks ago, we took our first of four children to begin his freshman year at college. As we collected items for the dorm, I was given one, clear directive. "Please, just Do NOT decorate my room." Well, as you can see below, his wish was carried out and he is very relieved. I suspect that when my first daughter goes to school, the request will be quite different, but for now, I can say that as a designer, I have followed one very important rule and that is to always listen to the wishes of the client.
Thankfully, the space planning of this very small dorm was done quite well. The walk in closet (yes, I did say "walk-in" closet) was so well designed that he actually could have put more in and still had room. You can't beat great organization! And so, if the room can't be decorated, well at least it is well organized!
